Exporting iTunes playlist?

It appears that the iTunes playlists, like everything else is proprietary. What I am trying to do is export a playlist in m3u format to put on an SD card for another device (Garmin Nuvi)

A quick Google search came up with plenty of scripts to do it, mostly for windoze computers, is there a quick and easy way to do it on a Mac?

I wish I knew this answer too. I exported my xml file and. my songs.

but the playlist isnt there
and that sucks any idea
