Hi guys I have a rather large video that I need to burn onto a DVD, ( it's a 7 minute photo slide show with all sorts of HDV footage from the photo shoot and motion graphics everywhere). Each of the motion graphic sequences range from about 3 to 8 gigs in size!!! So you can see I'm working with some serious clips here.

I'm working in FCE 4 and was curious if it's possible to export a self contained movie from this and import that into iDVD for burning. iDVD should take care of the encoding and compressing right?

I'm not familiar with DVD studio or anything like that and I need this done by Saturday morning so...I guess that's my excuse for using iDVD instead of something a little more appropriate.

It is exactly as you say. Export to QuickTime self contained movie and build your dvd in iDVD with that file. Beware, the compression and conversion to mpeg-2 that iDVD does will take time.
