There are several flash drives that are available with both Lightning and USB connectors. They seem to all use their own app to allow you to copy from a IOS device to the flash drive. These apps do not appear to need a jail break. Does status of certified MFI drive play into this ability?

It makes me wonder why no one seems to have made a file manager app that does not require a jail break and will let you download photos, videos..etc. to HD or SSD connected via the Lighting to USB 3 Camera Adapter.

What is the missing piece(s) to be about to hook up a HS or SSD and do a download of photos or videos from an IOS device like iPad Pro?
