I have a bunch of recording of long lectures that I'd like to host on my website. The problem is that they're too long to upload to YouTube. I noticed that QuickTime has a nice feature to export videos to web format, and it even creates a sample website and gives instructions for how to embed the videos. But it doesn't work for a 1-hour lecture for some strange reason, only for shorter files!

What could I do instead?

Thanks!

You should make sure which format is the most YouTube friendly. If I am not wrong, it supposes to be avi, mp4. And I suggest you upload video in the latest version of firefox or Google chrome. I think this will accelerate your upload speed.
