I was wondering if there was any improvements choosing an Express Card to eSata over using Firewire 800?

This card states a transfer rate on the card up to 300 mbps which is nowhere near the 800 mbps that Fw800 will give?

all one does over the other is unload/load the cache faster than the other.

Look at the size of the cache on the drive, and you are talking one is a fraction of a second quicker than the other.

Unless the drive itself is faster than the bus, the speed you burn through 16MB isn't a huge deal.

The drive's mechanical transfer speed is going to limit how fast you can transfer anyhow, not the bus speed.

old post, but I'll reply anyways...

that's 300MBps, not 300Mbps

MegaByte not Megabit...
so... about 3x faster than fw800 (theoretically)
