Cracked both the front and back of my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Appointment tomorrow. I have applecare+.

My question is does Apple physical store do the $99 express replacement?

You can just request for a replacement device right there and most likely they’ll just give you one as that’s easier than trying to fix and leaving you without your iPhone.
 
Depends on which  store worker you get.

Friend of mine broke the back glass on his iPhone recently, asked for a replacement iPhone.

 store worker said he should be replacing the back glass, ended up giving him a replacement phone instead.

Didn’t have the same luck with my iPhone 12 Pro Max, had to wait 3 hours for a screen replacement. ?
 
In most cases, they will want to repair first but sometimes they just replace the whole unit. Usually with screens, they will always replace the screens and not the entire device.

You're better off with the repair, if you're otherwise happy with the device. You don't know what you're going to get in a replacement device.

You have the same issue with the display as it could be a display lottery for the 13 Pro Max.
