Anyone have any experience using expresscard adapters with PCMCIA audio cards like Digigram's VXpocket or Echo's Indigo?

I'd like to be able to play live thru effects in Logic, and I understand that latency is far lower with expresscards/PCMCIA than anything else. So far the only expresscard audio available though is from RME ($1200) or Apogee ($3000).

My guess is that adapting ExpressCard/34 to PCMCIA for audio cards would be introducing too many variables for reliable operation.

An alternative would be to add a Firewire ExpressCard/34 interface, and run a Firewire audio interface. This would put the data and the audio on separate Firewire controllers, to maintain high performance. It would also give you far more flexibility in choice of interfaces.
