I wouldn't risk it. I had a 5G iPod screen protector from HMV a couple of years ago and it was awful. If I was you, I would buy one from an Apple Store, particularly one which uses static-cling rather than adhesive to stay on.
 
Is static-cling really better than adhesive? What is the benefit of static-cling?
 
Adhesive tends to only stick the first time you put it on, but with static-cling, you can remove it, wash it, and then put it back on again as often as you want.
