Hi All
I am new to Mac's!
I have an Imac 24" 1Gig ram using OS x 10.4.9.
When I was using 10.4.7 my Ritmo 300Gig Firewire HDD was mounting without any problems, since the upgrade to 10.4.9 it won't mount.
I believe the HDD is OK it also has USB2.
Is it possible to manually mount the HDD?
Can OS x be rolled back to 10.4.7?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance:)
Chris

You can manually mount any visible drives through the Disk Utility app in the Utilities folder.

If the drive isn't visible in Disk Utility, I know that one solution that often works on laptops is shutting down and leaving the laptop unplugged for about 5 minutes (this apparently resets something related to firewire). I don't know if this is also a solution for desktops. Good luck.

Are you sure it's not the drive? Does it work on another computer? Does it work when connected via USB? Also, do you have any other firewire devices you can use to test the firewire port on your iMac?
