Mac since 7.5
I have an Airport Extreme base station hooked to my cable modem. My iMac is connected to the AE via the ethernet port, since I couldn't bring myself to buy a now way overpriced 802.11b card for it (we have a PowerBook and a Vaio laptop connected wirelessly, for those of you wondering why I even needed an AEBS), and it sits next to the iMac anyway.
On the other side of the room sits a PS2 with a network adapter and a 25 foot ethernet cable, which I used to plug into my cable modem every now and then. Now that I have an Xbox as well, I'm interested in getting a wireless box that can hang on my Airport network, into which I could plug in both the PS2 and the Xbox at the same time. I could avoid the long cable being switched between the two consoles, and also avoid having to unplug the iMac to do the Xbox Live thing.
I'm not interested in buying two wireless adapters for $80 each. If it comes to that, I'll just buy one for the Xbox. I also want to avoid buying a cheap 4 port hub, connecting it to the AEBS, and then connecting the iMac and two consoles to the hub - too much cable clutter for me. I'd rather spend about $100 (or less) on a wireless hub and use a couple of patch cables for the consoles.
