I would like to extend my macbook pro desktop to two 17'' ADC monitors. The setup I would like to have is:
mini dvi to dvi to adc to splitter to monitors

but, I don't think that the one dvi to adc converter would provide enough power for two monitors and I can't find an adc splitter. So I think that I would need this setup:
mini dvi to dvi to dvi splitter to two dvi to adc converters to monitors

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Zack

it should be mentioned that a USB adaptor would work fine for basic tasks, but will not be very watchable for movies etc.

the Matrox dual/tri adaptors seem much better for your situation :)

I've heard the new ones play movies fine unless you're talking about 1080p BR rips. The older ones did not. Or do you have some personal experience? He could use the other screen which is connected via miniDP or DVI for movies and then use the USB video for something else. Matrox is overpriced and not that fancy

for a 1080p monitor you require about 5MB/s throughput to control at 30FPS i think it was - so yeh i guess it would be ok for watching standard youtube videos. problems arise due to USBs lack of a controller - therefore CPU usage goes through the roof!

i have not personally used on, only read pathetic reviews about them :)
