Extender cable compatible with digital hdmi

I use the digital hdmi adapter from apple extensively with both mt iphone4 and ipad2. Right now I have to take the case off the iPhone to use it. I also find that the shear bulk and weight when the hdmi and power cables are detrimental to ease and comfort of use and for some functions it just does not work to have my iPhone/iPad sitting on a table.

I have been looking to find an extender cable but most I have seen so far tend to have reviews indicating either no charging or other function not working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i doubt if there's an connector/extender for it.
I have the same issue too ; i will try to shave the connector to be thinner...
will see ...

I am familiar with the shaving idea but

For me that is not a very viable option as having the added weight and bulk to deal with when I am mirroring nor of my art aps does not work so well as I have a major need for joint replacement. Till that is past even the weight of the iPad skimpy that it is can be painful.

I did stumble across a smaller recent start up that maybe if they can see a need and demand for quality cables might be persuaded to add this style to their line
