Hi All
I just bought an Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n in hopes of broadcasting a stronger signal throughout the house. It helped some, but downstairs is still weak. This unit is replacing a working Airport Extreme "g" station.
Can I use the older "g" station to extend the network? And basically plug in the older "G" station downstairs. Would this downgrade the speed of the new "n" station since it is the older "g" protocol? Or would I have to buy an Airport Express 802.11n to extend the network.
Lastly, I set up the Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n up with my MacPro, connected to the base station via Ethernet cable. My MacPro does not have a wireless card. If I want to create an extended network -- configuring both base stations at once -- would I have to create this using my Mac laptop, which has the wi-fi card and would be able to see both base stations in Airport Utility?
thanks!
