Extending the desktop.... iSight iMac?

Okay, so I've read my manual and looked on the Apple support page. I know that almost all macs are capable of mirrioring to an external display but does anyone know where I can find (or if) my mac can extend the desktop?

I have a 1.9ghz iMac G5 (bought it 2 months before the early intel switch )

Can I extend or am I stuck with mirroring until I get a new computer?

i think that you should be able to extend your display. I can with my MBP and i am sure the iMac can. There is a setting in the display system preferences that is only activated when you plug a second monitor in.
