I am getting very tired of the people I work with saving their files on our server then attempting to pull them off and the extensions turning into:

"UNIX Executable Files"

They don't open and or do a damn thing. A good example is one guy who is using the new updated FreehandMX 11.0.2. His normal extension would .FHMX, but instead he's got the UNIX file when he opens it from the server. Similar problems have occured with Quark files, too. The .eps disappears and becomes a UNIX file.

Everyone at work seems to think it's a problem because of our PC server, but I don't think that is possible at all. Any ideas? The first thing I am doing is make people save their damn extensions so you can see them.

Thanks!

Well, the server needs to quit suckin' balls before the Creative dept. rips my head off.

Is there server exporting the share as SMB or AppleTalk? For example, you could use Services for Macintosh to create a shared volume for Macintosh computers. Not sure if using one or the other would help.
