Dear lion users,
I have an odd situation that I wish to share. To be honest, I don't know if this is a mini issue or a Lion issue, but here goes:
I used to connect my 3.5" external hard disk, acting as Time Machine, to my iMac running Snow Leopard via Firewire. It would sleep when it has been idle for a while, or when the iMac goes into sleep mode.
I now employ it in exactly the same manner on my Mac mini running Lion and it too would go to sleep when it has been idle for a while, but only if my mini is running. The moment my mini goes to sleep, the external HD revs up, and keeps spinning for hours, stopping only when the mini is turned on and there is no activity. My HD gets so hot because of this.
Anyone noticing the same thing?
