External Blu Ray Player for 17" MBP

I just ordered a 17" MBP and I'm considering the possibility of getting an external blu ray player. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they require Vista, or can XP be used? Would you generally recommend such a purchase, or not?

Check the user reviews for advice, but either vista or xp should work. This product also comes with the PowerDVD v7.3 software that will allow you to watch blu-ray movies... though I guess you have to pay to upgrade that to version 8 in order to get higher quality audio or something. Also, this particular brand does not burn, it just reads.
