External Blu-ray player on a mac

There are external blu-ray players for mac are been sold for 40 bucks and you need a software on your mac to run it, will it work?

Just watch them using a blu-ray player on my mac.
I saw some blu-rays devices which are compatible with mac's are sold for 40 bucks. so thought of asking before buying.

You can't watch natively on a Mac. There is software that is supposed to work, but it's very hit or miss and usually not worth the hassle.
