External CD/DVD drive recommendation

Subject says it all. Looking to a compact and "good priced" CD/DVD external drive that I could use in my white Intel Macbook.

I have the Lacie litescribe and it works great. I have had it for about 2 years and there was a time where I had a powermac G4 and I used it as the main drive because I burnt out the internal drive.

can externals do the job 100% of an internal? Like loading on boot an playing movies and stuff.
