hi everyone,
i use a imac 400 to surf the net. the dvd drive does not work proper and i can´t install anything from a cd-rom. how can i read cd-roms or even dvd´s from an external drive? better: how can i make an external fw cd-rom-drive(burner) to my main?

Do you already have an external drive? If so, all you have to do is plug it in and it will work fine. Alternatively, you could replace the drive in the iMac with a new one (remove the plastic faceplate from the new drive and it should fit).
 
i do have a drive. i can burn on it no prob. but it doesn´t show the cd-image on the desk so i can´t read etc.
