A friend of mine mentioned that they thought an adapter had come out that would allow for both an external display and gigabit ethernet to be plugged in to a single Thunderbolt port. I have done some searching, but I cannot seem to find anything of the sort. Does such a thing exist?

Also:
1. No, the 27" Apple Display is not an option (too expensive).
2. No, the USB Ethernet adapter is not an option (not gigabit).

The are a couple of ways to tackle this. The most obvious would be to get one of the new thunderbolt hubs from belkin or matrox. They have all sorts of ports including monitor, USB, Ethernet and others. The other way to do this would be to use one of the USB monitor adapters and a regular gigabit Ethernet thunderbolt adapter.
