Hi.

I am having an issue that I cannot seem to resolve myself just using Google and I hope one of you will be able to help me.

We have the following hardware:
1 Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2009 ( 2,26GHz / 9400M / 8GB / 10.8.3 / Displayport without audio )
1 Macbook White 13" Mid 2010 ( 2,4GHz / 320M / 4GB / 10.8.3 / Displayport with audio )
1 SONY KDL-32W4000E ( 1080p over HDMI / 720p over VGA )
1 Lenovo L2250p ( 1680x1050@60 / VGA / DVI-D )
1 Apple mini displayport to VGA adapter

The situation is as follows:
MBP + ADAPTER + SONY : OK
MBP + ADAPTER + LENOVO : OK
MBW + ADAPTER + SONY : OK
MBW + ADAPTER + LENOVO : NOK

Problem
When using MBW + ADAPTER + LENOVO, the LENOVO stays blank.

Note:
Screen mirrorring is disabled.

Observations
I can move the cursor away from the MBW screen into the invisible void where the LENOVO desktop should be.
A second desktop can be displayed on the LENOVO when I drop the resolution for it to 1400x900.
Closing/opening/unplugging/rebooting does not change the outcome.

Actions taken
Made sure all software is up to date.
Closing/opening/unplugging/rebooting MBW and LENOVO.
Tried to update ADAPTER firmware, but that did not work (due to OS version?).

Ideas
I have no data to support this, but I think the MBW does not send a proper signal when selecting 1680x1050@60. When choosing that exact setting on MBP the LENOVO works, but with the MBW, the LENOVO remains blank. It feels like the BMW shows 1680x1050@60 in the configuration, but sends a signal that does not adhere to the parameters shown in the configuration window.

Can anyone help me? I thought about trying a different ADAPTER, but I want to avoid buying a product without guaranteed success.

Thank you.
