when I use the external display with the lead open (both displays side by side), everything works fine. But when i close the macbook lead, the external display zooms in (overscan), so I have to go to display preference and increase the underscan. Now when i open the lead, the external display is zoomed out(because of increased underscan). So I have to turn off the underscan. I have to keep doing this every time I open and close the lead. Any solutions?

What Mac OS X version do you use on what exact MacBook Pro (size and year of release will suffice) with what exact display with what connection do you use?
