Hi all

I have a unibody 15" MBP and looking for an external display. I'm not wanting to pay loads of money and don't really want something too big.

If I was to get something like a 22" samsung monitor which has a higher res than the mac book pro would the mac book pro display this higher res on the external monitor?

As the MBP is 1440 x 900 would this be the max the MBP go display on the external monitor. Because if the MBP can't display the native res of the monitor it might look a little rubbish

Thanks

Apple handles multi display very well, you just need an adapter.

The external monitor res is independent of the laptop's display, as long as you don't mirror the display. I have an external 24" running at 1920x1200 while my laptop display is running at 1440x900. You just get an extended desktop and it's very addictive.

thanks

Ok many thanks

So basically your get a bigger desktop because of the RES.

What's the highest RES the video card in the MBP will support just so I know not to get anything to high.

So monitors seem to go very high these days
