I have a 32" Asus ProArt display (PA329C) which I purchased because it matches the colors of my work laptop (13" M2 MBP) perfectly. However, I recently purchased an M2 MBA for personal use, and when I plug the same monitor in it has a noticeably yellow tint.

From what I can tell, all of the display settings are identical between the two computers. For example, the Color profile is set to the same value on both ("PA329C," which is the name of the monitor).

I tried calibrating the white point on the MBA but that alone doesn't make the colors match as precisely as they are on the MBP.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Does anyone have any tips for how to troubleshoot what might be going on?

Note: I did go through Apple's help guide here: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/if-your-display-doesnt-look-right-mchlp2906/mac , which didn't resolve the issue.

I think the problem is the true tone (or night shift) enabled on one of the two laptops, which changes the color temperature of external monitor bringing it close to the ambient one.

Different displays have different characteristics. You might try calibrating your display. To do that, open System Settings and search for "display colors and calibration". Under Color Profile select Custom. Then click the + button to add a new profile. This will bring up the Calibrator Assistant.

It's the same display. Also, I mentioned that I tried calibrating it on the M2 MBA but was unable to get the same exact result as I see on the MBP.

I checked, and True Tone and Night Shift are disabled for both laptops.

Update: I think it has to do with the cable I was using. I tried a different USB-C connecting cable and it works.

MBP has higher speed ports, so maybe it was just more compatible with the other cable.
