I have a MacbookPro that is running OSX 10.5.8. I've been using a Diamond DisplayLink DVI to USB adapter for several years to provide a secondary monitor. The serial number of the DisplayLink is BVU195. For some reason I now can't detect the display of the monitor - I've tried restarting, going into sleep and out of sleep, shutting down, etc. The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2243. I've also tried several other monitors as well and I still can't figure out how to get my Mac to recognize the display using the DisplayLink. I have also tried re-installing the driver software and also trying other monitors. I even tried Repair Disk. I know the DisplayLink works because I can use it on a Windows machine with the same monitor that I can't get to work on my Mac. Also, at one point, I could see the Samsung SyncMaster profile under ColorSync utility (when it wasn't working), but after a few reboots I don't see it anymore. Any thoughts or ideas on things I can try to get the monitor recognizing again? Thanks.

I can only install 1.7 because I'm on 10.5.8. I'm going to bite the bullet and upgrade OSX and see if I can get it working that way.
