So Yosemite is refusing to detect external displays for me.. for both VGA and HDMI adaptors. The computer is a Macbook Air 13" 2014
Everything was working perfectly in Mavericks, I was on the beta program with Yosemite and it worked for a long time but somewhere along the way after the GM it stopped detecting any display I plug in (some VGA adaptors/cables still work).
I chalked it down to some bug in upgrades and did a clean install.. it was fixed but only up until I tried to use it for the second time, now it's back to not detecting anything.
What I've tried so far:
Different adaptors. (mostly third party)
Different cables.
Different monitors. (some TVs aswell)
someone mentioned the displaypolicyd permissions error, didn't work
Reset PRAM and SMC multiple times
The Thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor just flashes the screen when plugged in, but nothing shows up in the displays. The log shows something about AmbientDisplayAgent and services.
Any help would go a loong way since I'm close to pulling my hair out!
Thanks
