I was just curious if anyone uses one of those displays that you can connect to your iPad, thats powered by your iPad? I was looking at this one -
https://a.co/d/eCaBGMu (UPERFECT Portable Monitor, 15.6" IPS HDR 1920X1080 FHD Eye Care Travel Screen USB C Gaming Monitor, Dual Speaker External Monitor HDMI Type-C VESA for Laptop PC Phone w/Case)

First of all, does it work without external power? I want it to be completely powered by the iPad. How quickly does it kill the iPad's battery? I have a desk at work thats not close to a power outlet. I currently use my MacBook Air just at work, but kind of want to sell it and just use my iPad Pro for everything. My 11" screen is just a tad too small when I need more than one spreadsheet open at a time, doable, but cramped.

I get that this monitor is a bit on the cheaper end, but I can't really argue with the $60 price point. Though, if this one won’t work with what I want to use it for, I wouldn't mind getting one of the higher spec versions.

Yes the iPad can power a monitor like that (I have a similar one). When powering the monitor this way, your iPad battery will drain noticeably faster. But you should still have enough to work for several hours in this configuration. Not sure about the specifics of this monitor, but my external monitor can also be powered separately and then in that mode will provide power to the iPad as well.

Thanks! Just curious which monitor you have?

Got this Azorpa 2.5k 16” on Amazon for ~$100 Black Friday last year. It’s mainly fine. Colors are not very vibrant, especially when next to one of the oled iPads. But the price was right and I mainly use it for extra space when on the go for my work laptop. It only gets hooked up to the iPad occasionally so that’s not its main use.
