I just installed Windows 7 again on my computer after a recent full reinstall of mac, upgrade of hdd etc.
When using windows 7, I connected my hdtv like i always do (never done under windows to be honest) with a hdmi-minidvi cable.
Then I set windows so only the external screen would be used, and the laptop screen turned off, and everything worked as expected.
During this, however, there was a power outage in my house, and naturally my hdtv switched off, my laptop continued on battery.
I was AFK at that moment, but after returning, and turning the TV back on, there was no signal.
Explanation of the current problem: when there is no external screen plugged in, the computer works fine.
When I plug in my display, the computer detects hardware being plugged in, the laptop screen turns off, the external screen does not detect any signal.
I have tried multiple things:
-Making sure the TV is on the right input: fail
-Reboot windows: fail
-Different HDMI input of TV: fail
-going through the display settings hoping to see some setting that might help: fail
-uninstall and reinstall (built in) monitor driver: fail
-uninstall and reinstall graphics card driver: fail
-Go back to osx: works (so no hardware seems to be damaged)
Is there maybe a way to reset the setting so when i plug in an external monitor, the screen gets mirrored? because then i can at least see something, maybe some settings concerning the screen i plugged in.
