Hi Guys

I have an external display connected to my MBP (Late 2012) the display in a DELL Ultrasharp.. when my MBP goes to sleep my monitor goes to sleep also but then wakes again and then goes to sleep again and wakes again.

I hope this makes sense..
I wondered if any of you can help??

Thanks

So while the MacBook Pro is sleeping the display continues to start then power save then start again? If so try resetting display preferences. It will be in the menu of the monitor, not in OS X. There will also be an "Energy Saver" panel and contain some options you can tinker with.

I have reset the monitor back to factory settings to see if that makes a difference, I can't seem to find the energy saving mode on the monitor. its a DELL U2410

How is the Dell monitor connected? Is it connected via Display Port, VGA, DVI, or HDMI? Are you using an Apple video adapter?

Monitor is connected via HDMI to Mini Displayport

I used to use a genuine Apple Mini Displayport to DVI but that seemed to cause more problems

I have tried using another monitor (Samsung) and had the same issue, I seems as though its when the MBP goes between screensaver and sleep (Has only happened since Mavericks)

Same problem with thunderbolt display!

Sometimes i need to keep the power button for a forced restart!

It's a mavericks bug i think ...
