external display wake issues

Hi, I can't figure why but every time I put mac rMBP in sleep the external display (via displayport) wakes up every few minutes. The monitor open and close itself (seeing no signal). I only get this behavior when attached to that computer. I cannot say if it is related to a specific version. It was attached to this Mac after I got the final release of 10.11.2
