External Drive Always waking after sleep?

Hello -

I have a external RAID drive via USB connected to my Mac Studio. The typical one you get from OWC. I use it for my Lightroom catalog library storage.

Whenever I come back to my machine after it has had time to "Sleep" I have to wait for the external drive to start spinning before I can see the login window.

My question is: Is there a way to disable the "wake" function on this external drive so it wont interfere with the login screen / over all wait time.

It really ins't that long of a wait 3-5 seconds but it gets annoying.

Does the drive have an on/off switch?

Another thought:
Have you ever tried "Semulov" to mount/dismount the external drive?

Are you allowing your Mac Studio to sleep for security reasons or for power saving?
