Hi,

I just got Lacie firewire drive and while it's mounted, the drive is keep spinning. Is this a normal behavior? I keep the disk mounted all the time and only accessed when backup script runs at 5am. I am just worried that the drive will wear out if I keep it this way.

Do you have your energy saver settings in preferences checked to put the drives asleep?

Can you share the code of the backup script? I'm trying to develop one on my own and have been running into some problems.

No I didn't check that because when I do, it turns out that I can't login to the machine remotely..
