External drive keeps being disconnected & laptop refuses to wake often since 10.13.6 update

Since 10.13.6 update I've had the following happen daily:

1 - My MacBook Pro 15 inch retina (bought Dec 2017) regularly refuses to wake up when I tap keys on the external keyboard or move the external mouse... These are connected via a Henge Stone USB-C dock - all was fine before the update.

2 - The external drive connected to the same laptop through the same henge dock is regularly disconnected and then remounted - every few minutes.

I've done a complete clean reinstall of macOS HS since as well - no change.

It's annoying... any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

Try waking with the power button. That seems to avoid the issue for some (all?).
