external drive not showing correct data - error fixing?

hey guys


my 1tb external drive ( i was deleting the time machine backup ) and emptied recycle bin etc unfortunatey the drive disconnected during process

now its saying there is only 2gb free on the drive, when i know i have deleted the 300gb time machine backup

can anyone help me get this drive fixed? i have tried disk utility repair first aid but it keeps crashing
it is finding errors but gets stuck on the circle loading sign in one of the steps and doenst progress any further

I think you have two choices (OK, three!)
1. Try a more capable drive repair utility, such as Alsoft's Disk Warrior, to (hopefully) repair the volume.
2. Use Disk Utility to erase the drive, and start over with a fresh volume.
3. (optional) ignore the drive completely. Put it on the top shelf in a closet.
