I just bought an external drive with 2 Firewire 800 Connections. I also have another external drive with 1 Firewire connection.

I want to connect the two drives together and use one for Time Machine and the other to clone my drive using Super Duper.

The 2 Firewire 800 connections are located next to each other with one connection on the edge of the drive and the other right beside it toward the center of the drive.

I will attach the cable from my computer to the drive with two Firewire 800 connections and then connect the drive with the single Firewire 800 connection.

My question: Does it matter which connection (edge or center) I use first with the cable from the computer.

As you can tell, I have never connected two external drives before.

Thanks
