Hello,
Recently my external hard drive has stopped being recognized by my mac. It is a 1tb Samsung drive (almost full with mostly important data) in a Lacie external enclosure. I have tried the drive in my desktop computer with HFS explorer with no change.
When I plug the hard drive into my mac it asks me to initialize the drive. It does not give me the option to repair it. It shows 33.3 mb in disk utility but is unable to mount. I have tried a few demo programs online to see if they can read the drive, if they would I would buy, but I have not had such luck. After searching here and online I fell on "testdisk" which is unable, as far as I can tell, to find any partitions (there was only one.) I am also confused on how to use this program to repair the disk. The wiki is confusing and I am unable to find a walk through online for a HFS disk.
Any one else have any recommendations? I will pay if it will work 100%. Would a "professional" be able to guarantee such work?
Thanks for any help!
