So, I have a 1TB external WD hard drive, and in the past week it's only actually been recognized by my computer half the time. Recently it's gotten ten times worse, with the drive being recognized by any computer one in a hundred times and when it is, I can see that all my files are still there but the drive only stays connected for about a minute before disconnecting itself. I've taken it apart and the microUSB connector is soldered onto the board, ruining my plans of putting it in another case. So, how do I get this to work again? The data is all still on it, obviously... please help, I've got a lot of important things on there!

I would suggest, before anything else, that you start copying whatever you can to another drive in the minute that it stays connected. I lost a hard drive several years ago and lost tons of my most treasured photos. I'm still pissed off to this day that I didn't back it up regularly.
