I have been told that if I put all my iTunes library [ 17 gb ] on a external drive it will increase my memory on my iMc. Is this true ? I currently have 1 gb of memory and trying to get it up to 2 gb so I can update to ML. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Moving your iTunes library to an external drive will free up space on your internal hard drive, but it will have no effect on your memory, which is RAM.
