I have an external drive which i partitioned into 2 parts now i only want 1 part, i have tried in disk utility to delete the partitions but not quite sure what i'm doing.
anyone help me out?

Hi...

In Disk Util you want to pick the external drive, of course, but be sure to select it from the head or uppermost descriptor. It might say for example 279.5 GB Maxtor or what ever, so you are selecting the drive not the partition. Next select the Partition tab from the window to the right. Then partition the drive the way you need it to be. That should do it... good luck.

Don't forget to backup everything first...Disk utility will wipe the drive clean

thanks guys got it.
i'm going to clone my entire hard disk to get ready for my Leopard install using superduper then if everythings ok delete the external again and use time machine!!
