Blu ray will require third party software OS X has no bluray compatability.

Pioneer BDR-XD05B 6x Slim Portable USB 3.0 BD/DVD/CD Burner.
I really like the clamshell opening feature.
I don't use BD but there are a number of good reviews for this unit w/BU
