i need to get an extranal dvd/blueray player writer can anyone suggest one that will work with EL capitan.

thanks

I use this one with Mac and PC:
Pioneer BDR-XD05B 6x Slim Portable USB 3.0 BD/DVD/CD Burner.
I really like the clamshell opening feature.
I don't use BD but there are a number of good reviews for this unit w/BU
Got mine from B&H. $90, black or white

I also just got this model, well, the silver version. BDR-XD05S. Best Buy seems to have the best price at $75. I picked it up a few days ago, so I don't really have anything to say about it yet, but it was the top pick here: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-external-blu-ray-drive/
(well, the top pick for a portable model.) They did a pretty extensive review.
