When I got my MacBook I opted for the low-end model due to money concerns. Now I have more money, and I would like a DVD burner (external). Are there any iDVD-compatible (must) external DVD burners. I was hoping for a rewritable one too. Thanks!

I don't have a Macbook, but most any external DVD (preferably a FW version) should be compatible with iDVD. I think that Tiger added the necessary drivers or whatnot to allow iDVD to "see" and use external drives, whereas you had to use Patchburn for older OS versions. I have a Powerbook with Tiger and a Pioneer OEM drive in a Bytecc case that works fine for everything I have used it for. I don't use iDVD, but I know that the app "sees" the drive as usable.

Yeah, a FW drive is a must. I rarley use iLife (apart from iTunes which I use everyday), but when I do need to make a DVD with it they need to be damn fine! Anyway, a DVD burner is useful to have! :D
