If I use an external dvd burner, will there be any problems at all with dvds that I have made using iDVD? Or with making data DVDs? Thanks for the help.

I work in an all-mac art studio. DVDs and data DVDs are made all the time. We never had a problem (except that people buy DVD+R instead of DVD-R all the time). Anything specific?

Really what it is, is that I can get an external drive cheaper than the $200 that apples charges for the superdive upgrade. i wont need to used the dvd burner very often and not immediately so i was thinking of buying an external one in the future. i was just wondering if there would be any problems with that as far as burning a project that i made in iDVD on the external dvd burner.

thanks for your help, i am a new switcher and as soon as i get this question answered i am ordering my 12" pb!!
