I just brought my daughter an old G3 Imac, which has only a CD-ROM drive. I would like to get a DVD drive so that she can watch movies. However, what little I have found seems too fancy for just watching a movie and I can't tell if they would be compatible with the G3.

Also, the computer doesn't have iDVD installed and I do not have the install discs. Is there another way to install iDVD or are there alternate DVD software for a Mac?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you just want to watch movies, then the DVD Player app comes on every Mac and can play DVDs. iDVD is for creating DVDs.
