Hi all,
My peecee recently decided to commit hara-kiri so I was thinking of externalizing its dvd burner (and eventually HD) for usage on my iBook. Looking around at enclosures I am unsure if usb2.0 or firewire is the way to go. I know my iBook only has firewire400 so is there any benefit to getting a firewire only or firewire/usb2.0 combo interfaced enclosure, or simply go for the cheaper usb2.0 one?

Usb 2.0 and firewire case will be more useful to you if you ever use the dvd burner/hard drive on the pc again .. Since Firewire ports on Pcs are slim .. Firewire has higher sustained rate than USB 2.0 even on paper its the reverse.. if both items will be on Macs only then go for firewire case
