External Enclosure Choices

I am in the market for an external hd right now and I decided on building my own one. I am interested in 3.5" ones, as they are a little cheaper. There were so many different types of enclosures and I thought the docks were quite interesting. Here's the list of enclosures I'm looking at, but I'm not sure which ones are better. Are docks more reliable and better (in general)? or normal ones the best choice?
