So, long story short -- I had a DVD recorder that died on me (power supply) and the repairs never worked so I figured I'd salvage the drive. Took it out, ordered a 5.25" enclosure from OWC and just got it today.
I hook it up and NOTHING. The only thing I can imagine that isn't quite working is it has the Prolific PL3507 chipset in the enclosure, and the Prolific website says nothing about support for OS10.5. If nothing seems to work, I think OWC will be getting a call on Monday as I was told this would work fine. The drive isn't showing up in ANYTHING including System Profiler.
Does anyone know anything that might be of service? I'm hoping so because I'm kind of getting a bit angry with this.
UPDATE: When I plug it in via FW400, it is recognized in System Profiler but not recognized in Toast Titanium 10.
