Hi,
Hope someone can help me.
I was upgrading to the El Capitan GM today. I have an external HD that is encrypted into two separate partitions. I wanted to enable Time Machine and pointed it towards one of the encrypted drives. Foolishly I enabled an encrypted backup and it prompted me to give a password (which I thought was for the back up only) but it failed applying the password.
Now when I want to mount the drive, it asks me for the password (the one that Time Machine failed to apply according to itself) but the password I used there works to unlock it. More weird, is that one of the two partitions (the one I didn't point the TM backup to) mounts but the TM backup partition does not. When I enter the new password, it tells me that the drive is unreadable and gives me an option to erase it.
Why is this messed up?
I also put ignore permissions on the external drive before I pointed TM to back onto it.
Can any one help ?
