External fax modem software and Panther

just installed an external fax modem and i can send faxes but not receive them. the phone line is indeed the correct number and the modem is my default in the menu.

question - should i install the software that came with the modem (Best Data 56k modem)? shouldn't panther take care of it all by itself?

Didn't your computer ship with FAXstf?
