I suggest going to www.synchrotech.com and checking out their selection. I have had one of their firewire (400) disks for 3 years now with no problems whatsoever. They also look really nice, and are smaller than some other competeing brands.

The LaCies triple interfaces are also nice! They have FW400/FW800/USB2.0 connections. I've got one myself and LaCie is highly regarded amogst many MacRumor users.

LaCie D2 or Big Disk Extreme.

Built like a tank, very nippy on FW800... have one at work for network backup (320gb), will be purchasing another within the next 6 months...

Fairly quiet, too...

Comes with all cables and Silverkeeper backup software.

Another vote for LaCie d2 drive. In a bit of coincidence, I have posted a review at Amazon today.

I've got a 250 gig La Cie D2 Extreme (FW 400 & 80 no USB) The FW 800 is brilliant and backsup at up to 2 gig per minute. La Cie is top quality stuff.

Ditto

Just bought the 250 gigger last night $269 at Apple Store - probably cheaper online - it is quiet and FAST

:)
